We are seeking a highly motivated, self-disciplined Manager to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive spare parts strategy for our distributed generation (DG) solar portfolio. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role that blends strategic planning with operational implementation. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable designing systems and processes as they are receiving, inventorying, and shipping parts in the field.

This is a remote position, with some required travel to San Luis Obispo, CA.

Responsibilities

Program Strategy & Development

• Collaborate with the VP of Technical Asset Management to define and build the spare parts strategy across a growing portfolio of DG solar assets.
• Build and present the business case for a centralized warehouse, including location analysis, lease evaluation, and operational planning.
• Establish policies and procedures for inventory management across multiple storage types, including third-party warehouses, onsite containers, and company-owned facilities.

System Implementation

• Support the design, configuration, and rollout of the selected inventory tracking system.
• Establish and maintain a system which meets operational needs for tracking, reporting, and auditing spare parts across all locations.
• Train internal users and external partners on system use and best practices.

Operational Execution

• Receive, catalog, and ship spare parts as needed, particularly during program ramp-up.
• Conduct regular audits of inventory at all storage locations to ensure accuracy and availability.
• Coordinate with field technicians, O&M providers, and logistics partners to streamline parts flow and minimize downtime.
• Establish inventory thresholds and develop a streamlined replenishment program.
• Work closely with Procurement, Field Operations, and Engineering to forecast spare parts needs and optimize stocking levels.

Process Improvement & Systems:

• Improve close, reporting, reconciliation, and audit workflows to increase efficiency, scalability, and consistency.
• Partner with systems and finance teams to enhance ERP reporting, data integrity, automation, and portfolio-level visibility.
• Develop practical reporting tools and dashboards that help leadership monitor financial performance, deadlines, and key accounting metrics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in supply chain, inventory management, or operations, preferably in the renewable energy or utility sector.
• Demonstrated ability to build and scale inventory programs from the ground up.
• Experience managing inventory across multiple distributed locations.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations, logistics, and ERP/inventory systems.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills; able to manage both strategic planning and day-to-day execution.
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Willingness to travel and perform physical tasks in warehouse or field settings.
• Must get excited about efficient spare parts management and organization.
• Must be curious, self-motivated, like people, and have strong written communication skills.

The Director, Portfolio Controller (Senior Director based on experience) will lead the accounting function for REC Power’s operating portfolio of solar and storage assets. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting, including the preparation and delivery of financial statements and reporting packages to internal and external stakeholders. The Director will partner closely with the VP of Accounting to document and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and controls, oversee audit readiness and execution, and drive disciplined accounting operations across the portfolio. This is a remote position, with some required travel to San Luis Obispo, CA.

Responsibilities

Operating Portfolio Accounting & Financial Reporting:

• Lead all accounting activities for the operating portfolio, including month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and project-level accounting review.
• Oversee the preparation, review, and delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting packages.
• Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete, and compliant with GAAP, internal policies, financing agreements, lender requirements, and stakeholder reporting obligations.
• Provide clear analysis of financial results, variances, trends, and key drivers to Finance leadership and business partners.
• Coordinate delivery of reporting and financial information to internal stakeholders, external investors, lenders, auditors, and other required parties.
• Maintain strong ownership of deadlines, deliverables, and review processes to support timely and reliable reporting.

Policies, Procedures, Controls & Audit Oversight:

• Work with the VP of Accounting to document, maintain, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls for the operating portfolio.
• Identify control gaps, recommend improvements, and implement practical processes that improve accuracy, consistency, compliance, and scalability.
• Oversee annual audits and audit-related deliverables, including audit schedules, support documentation, financial statement review, and responses to auditor inquiries.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, lenders, and other third parties to ensure timely completion of reporting and compliance requirements.
• Promote audit readiness throughout the year through disciplined documentation, reconciliations, and close procedures.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Serve as a trusted accounting partner to Finance leadership, Asset Management, Operations, Project Delivery, Treasury, Legal, and other teams supporting the operating portfolio.
• Communicate complex accounting matters clearly and effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Oversee direct reports assigned to the operating portfolio accounting function, including workload planning, task prioritization, review of work product, performance coaching, and professional development.
• Lead, coach, and develop accounting team members responsible for portfolio accounting, reporting, reconciliations, and audit support.
• Establish clear ownership across the team for close activities, reconciliations, reporting packages, audit schedules, stakeholder deliverables, and issue resolution.
• Drive accountability for high-quality deliverables, strong review standards, and timely resolution of issues.
• Support special projects, new portfolio integrations, financing transactions, process improvements, and other strategic initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility in controllership, project accounting, portfolio accounting, financial reporting, audit support, controls, and month-end close.
• Advanced Excel skills, ability to work with large data sets, pivot, and analyze results.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including GAAP financial reporting, multi-entity accounting, internal control concepts, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement review.
• Demonstrated ability to lead close and reporting processes across project-level or portfolio-based entities, including preparation, review, and delivery of financial statements and reporting packages.
• Experience documenting, maintaining, and improving accounting policies, procedures, controls, close checklists, reconciliations, and audit support.
• Experience with multi-entity, project-level, portfolio-based, or fund accounting structures, including intercompany activity, allocations, lender reporting, or investor reporting.
• Experience managing audits or audit deliverables, including schedules, supporting documentation, auditor inquiries, and financial statement review.
• Experience leading, coaching, and reviewing the work of accounting team members in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain accounting matters clearly, build trust with finance and non-finance stakeholders, and drive alignment across teams.
• Proven analytical, prioritization, problem-solving, project management, and process-improvement skills.

Preferred

• CPA, CMA, MBA, or active CPA track preferred.
• Experience in renewable energy, solar, independent power producer, infrastructure, construction, real estate, or other asset-heavy operating portfolio environments.
• Experience with project finance structures, tax equity partnerships, joint ventures, non-controlling interests, or other renewable-energy ownership structures.
• Experience working directly with lenders, investors, external auditors, tax advisors, asset management teams, or other external stakeholders.
• Experience implementing, optimizing, or administering ERP, consolidation, reporting, or automation tools; Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar systems a plus.
• SQL report building, API configuration, financial modeling, dashboarding, data analysis, or reporting automation skills preferred.

The Technical Asset Manager will be responsible for the operational performance, maintenance oversight, and technical optimization of a portfolio of distributed generation solar and storage assets. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive professional with strong technical acumen, capable of leveraging performance data and contractor relationships to maximize asset availability and production. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across teams and systems in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. This is a remote position, with some required travel to San Luis Obispo, CA.

Responsibilities

• Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations of solar PV and storage assets within assigned portfolio. Monitor performance metrics and identify underperformance to ensure assets meet or exceed forecasted production.
• O&M Management: Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure timely and effective execution of preventative and corrective maintenance. Review maintenance reports, manage warranty claims, and ensure resolution of system issues. Manage all vendor SLAs. Manage all P.O. generations and invoice approvals for allocated portfolio. Includes management of all vegetation maintenance and module washing where and if required.
• Performance Optimization: Manage and validate loss allocations to accurately assign and categorize monthly losses. Analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Implement technical solutions and manage field interventions to enhance asset performance.
• Problem Solving and Special Projects: Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve complex asset performance issues arising from technical, commercial, market, or cross-functional factors. Lead special projects in sub-portfolio and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to drive timely, data-driven solutions that optimize asset performance and portfolio value.
• Reporting & Compliance: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual operational reports for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• New Site Onboarding: Support commissioning and transition of new assets into operations. Review and organize as-built documentation and ensure proper setup in asset management platforms.
• Financial Support: Manage real-time O&M budget. Assist in budgeting and forecasting for assigned assets. Provide technical data, documentation and insights to support insurance renewals, claims, invoicing, and other compliance-related activities.
• Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and refinement of scalable systems and procedures for asset monitoring, maintenance tracking, and reporting. Collaborate with internal teams to improve operational workflows. Adopt new systems as they are rolled out.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with Commercial Asset Management, Finance, and Development teams to ensure alignment on asset performance, reporting, and compliance. Serve as a technical resource across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in solar or renewable energy operations, with direct experience in technical asset management.
• Familiarity with solar equipment, technologies (legacy and emerging), and plant operations.
• Ability to read and interpret solar site plans and electrical diagrams.
• Experience with contract compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and stakeholder reporting.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in asset management platforms (e.g., Smartsheet, Salesforce), performance monitoring tools (PowerTrack, GPM, etc), and reporting software.

Required Skills

• Preferred: NABCEP certification, OSHA 10/30, experience with battery storage and commercial rooftop projects.
